Chainalysis is a blockchain data platform that designs and develops anti-money laundering software for Bitcoin businesses. Simply put, they work with government agencies, exchanges, financial institutions, and insurance and cybersecurity companies to help solve some of the world’s most high-profile criminal cases. They raised $170m in a Series F round in May 2022, and are hiring for over 100 remote positions.

Quick facts

  • Diversity in leadership roles
  • Dedicated employee-led Diversity Committee
  • Glassdoor rating of 4.6
  • Remote role hiring

Diversity in Leadership and Management

The executive leadership team at Chainalysis is reported to be more than 40% non-white. And in terms of management broadly, 10% of managers are Black or African American and 12% are Hispanic of Latinx– both higher than tech industry standards of 7% and 8% respectively.

The number of women in leadership and management positions is also promising. Women are represented from the C-Suite level, with 40% of the executive leadership team identifying as non-male. The company reports that they have a documented equal pay policy and that the mean gender pay gap is less than 10%; both signal the company’s commitment to changing the tech industry status quo. Finally, the Chief of Legal Affairs, Amanda Wick, spearheads a thought leadership and networking series called “Women in Crypto,” to bring together women from across the world working in cryptocurrency.

Hiring and Inclusion

Chainalysis tracks their Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) data across the recruiting funnel, and works with partners like Power to Fly and HeadStart to increase the diversity of their candidate pool. For the current team, the company sponsors an employee-led Diversity Committee that has a designated budget and works to review and implement grassroots change.

Finally, Chainalysis recently launched a new resource to learn the fundamentals of cryptocurrency education for the “crypto-curious.” Forwarding the mission of financial inclusion, the new Chainalysis Academy is free and open to everyone!

Overall, Chainalysis has a very good Glassdoor rating of 4.6, with reviews specifically mentioning the company’s diversity and culture as pros: “Team is super welcoming, we've got people from such diverse backgrounds and it is a fascinating place to work.” We're so excited to highlight Chainalysis in our first Therefore Community webinar!
